Now this is what I remember most!

Today was another early start and had the first night where I felt very cold in bed.  I dreamed about blankets.  Tonight there'll be 2 more blankets on top of us!  I layered again but this time added my foul weather pants and jacket on over everything and I felt warm all day.  The wind was lighter than the previous day and since we wanted to go a marina that closed at 5:30, we decided to motor sail to make good time.  It turned out to be a glorious day!  We were nice and relaxed, enjoying the scenery, our company and good food!

Here are photos of the happy captain and crew!

We are staying for 3 nights at Old Salt Ponds Marina in Virginia to weather out rain and heavy winds.  A very pretty place and very nice marina.  We are on shore power so keeping our electronics charged is a bonus!  Tomorrow is laundry and shower day - hurray!
Across from the marina.

Bill and Lisa will be stopping by to deliver a bracket for our dinghy motor crane tomorrow.  Hopefully, it won't be raining when they get here.

The marina had these super tall wild grass or wheat along their walkway.  Ed took this - a nice fall photo.

Fair Winds to All!

  1. Hi Joan
Just finished reading Ed's and now yours. I'll try to follow both this time. You may still be in Salt Pond - very windy up here today.
I'm sure you are looking forward to being a little further south for some warm days and nights.
    Fair winds, Ron
