One more day and we are there! (behind in blogging - catching up soon!

This is where we docked Dolce Vita in Portsmouth - on the city docks - Free!

Smiling Captain Ed - successful docking and at the right price!  Who wouldn't be smiling?

I am so excited to be so close to being on our way to the Dismal Swamp, NC!  That'll come tomorrow!  We spent the night in Portsmouth, VA which is just South of Norfolk. This was a free dock right in the city of Portsmouth, VA. An interesting place. We arrived on a Monday where almost everything is closed. Lucky for my wallet! I am so looking for a watch to replace the cheap one that broke almost as soon as I put on! Onward....the city looked a lot like many of other small town cities that we visited. One very cool place was an old time movie theater that was showing A Star is Born with Lady Gaga and Bradly Cooper. I didn't find out till later that it was a dinner/movie theater.

After our walk we went to the docks and introduced ourselves to two other couples that were going South and were traveling together. Lisa and Jim on Pegasus and Sharon and John on North Star. We sat with them, chatted and had a beer. Very nice and personable.

We ended up going to the cinema with them and enjoyed the movie. The food was okay, but it was fun to eat and watch a movie with a glass of wine!

We also enjoyed the decor of the theater.  This is how the cinema was laid out.   It was well done and made us feel like we were back in time!

Just to keep you up to date on the Octopus, here are a couple of pictures of her.

This is her joining us for
breakfast with her cup
of joe.

 Here she is waving hello
to people on the dock
in Portsmouth.
