Charleston, SC

Charleston is another of my favorite cities.  It is full of history and Southern charm.  On the first trip it was the first time I ever had shrimp and grits, and the first time visiting a real Southern plantation.  We revisited the restaurant we went to for the shrimp and grits and it tasted just as good.  They put pickled okra in their Bloody Mary drinks - better than it sounds!

Al and Barb

What was very special about this trip was that Ed's sister and brother-in-law - Barb and Al - traveled 2 hrs. from their home in Columbia, SC to join us for dinner!  We took them to a seafood restaurant we ate at the last time we were here - Amen Street.  Very good food and way too expensive.  A great place to have fresh raw oysters!

We took a nice walk around parts of Charleston.

This was once a school (my guess) but is now dilapidated.

We also took a free trolley ride and saw other parts of the city.  No photos of this.  A great couple of days was had!

Fair Winds to All!
