Guess Who's back? Jekyll Island, GA

Jekyll Island, GA

We discovered this island on our first trip and decided to stop off again.  We didn't borrow bicycles this trip (not sure I could ride one with my knee in a brace-actually I think I can ride one but getting off was my worry!) so we borrowed a golf cart!  We went up and down the island both days we were there.  Lots of fun.  We did some sight seeing and some provisioning.

Views from the dock.  It is such a friendly, pleasant place!

They welcome all the transient boats to Jekyll Harbor!

This is Little Bit.  A friendly cat who let me pet her for a long while.

You have and will continue to see a ton of pictures from me of water birds on pilings.  They fascinate me.  They have no problems sharing a piling no matter how small or large!  Big birds to smaller varieties!

This sign was on a large trawler at the dock.  It's an Airbnb.  You can rent this just like you would a bed and breakfast, only it's on the water.  Not sure if the renters take it out or just stay at the dock.

A beautiful carving outside the office.

Terry, the Dockmaster - She is the nicest and most helpful person!  She reminds us of a college friend of Ed's.  For those reading this and are from ONU, can you guess who?

Foliage around the island.

And so we bid farewell to Jekyll Island!  May we rest upon your shores again!

Fairwinds to All,

Joan
