Watch Out for Rocks!

Just after Myrtle Beach, we went through a channel called the Rockpile. The Captain was on full alert going through this area. As you go through the water, it looks easy, but there are signs warning you to watch the rocks.

Along each side there are lots of big rocks hidden under the water just waiting to cause a hole in a boat or two! So the Captain
kept Dolche Vita right in the middle.

The earth was fascinating along the side - layers of rocks, ledges of rock that jut out and back in.

A heron soaking up some sun.

Just outside the Rock Pile there was a VOR which VHF Omni Directional Range - used by small planes to navigate.

In case you were wondering where Inky Rose was through all of this, she was so sure we were going to hit a rock that she stayed below in the cabin!

Fair Winds to All,

Joan
